John
Thibodeaux, a classmate of the classes of 1949-50 from Istrouma
High School, was killed Tuesday evening in an automobile wreck
in St. Francisville. This is a copy of the article that appeared

St.
Francisville man dies in car crash
A St.
Francisville man was killed in a wreck Tuesday at 11:44 a.m. at
the intersection of Port Hudson Cemetery Road and U.S. 61,
Louisiana State Police reported.
A Dodge Grand
Caravan was northbound on U.S. 61 in the left turn lane at the
intersection, a Troop A news release says.
Traffic in the
southbound left lane of U.S. 61 was slow because of a turning
vehicle and the Grand Caravan tried to turn onto Port Hudson
Cemetery Road when it crashed into the driver’s side of a
Chevrolet Silverado driving southbound in the right lane, the
release says.The Silverado ran off the road and flipped as its
driver, John T. Thibodeaux, 74, St. Francisville, was ejected
and pronounced dead at the scene, the release says.
The driver of
the Grand Caravan, Timothy L. Schroeder, 38, Denham Springs, and
a passenger were not injured, the release says. Schroeder will
be booked with failure to yield and negligent homicide, the
release says.
THIBODEAUX SR., JOHN TICE
A retired insurance executive
and retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel, he died Tuesday,
Nov. 21, 2006, in Zachary. He was 74, a resident of St.
Francisville and native of Baton Rouge. He was a veteran of the
Korean War, having flown B-52s and C-130s for Strategic Air
Command. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St.,
from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26. Visiting at St.
Francisville United Methodist Church on Monday from 9 a.m. until
religious service 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Danny Gleason and
the Rev. Harold Babin. Interment in Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Laura Bell Thibodeaux, St.
Francisville; daughter, Toni Thibodeaux and Lev Youngblood, both
of Denver; five sons, John Tice Thibodeaux Jr., Baton Rouge, Kevin
D. Thibodeaux, St. Gabriel, Patrick Cronin, Baton Rouge, Kevin
Cronin, Safety Harbor, Fla., and Dale Clonin, Prairieville;
brother, Lawrence Camille "Bucky" Thibodeaux,
Prairieville; and five grandchildren. He was a member of St.
Francisville United Methodist Church, past president and past
secretary/treasurer of the church council, vice president of the
District Methodist Men and served two years on the church
Evangelist Committee. He was a 1949 graduate of Istrouma High
School and a 1953 graduate of LSU. In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to St. Francisville Boy Scouts of America or
St. Francisville United Methodist Mens organization.
