Died Sunday, Jan.
9, 1994 at his residence. He was 61, a native of Baton Rouge
and a resident of Aiken since 1957. He was a retired chemical
engineer with Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site and a U.S.
Air Force veteran. Visiting at George Funeral Home, Aiden, S.C., 6
p.m. until funeral services at 7 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the
Rev. Dr. Reilly Hammond. Interment will be private. Survived by
wife, Marjorie "Bo" Starks; two sons, James B. Starks
III and Richard A. Starks, both of iken; a daughter, Kathy
Pickens, Pocatello, Idaho; a brother, Richard S. Starks, Baton
Rouge, two sisters, Shirley Jarvis and Birdie Sue Sandifer, both
of Baton Rouge; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a
step-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by parents, James B. Sr.
and Birdie Leigh Carlton Starks. He was a graduate of L.S.U. in
1955 with a B.S. in chemical engineering and was a member of
Istrouma Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the American
