John Gordon Lowrance
A retired mechanical
engineer, he died Sunday, June 27, 2010, at Lane Regional Medical
Center, Zachary. He was 79, born in Cuero, Texas, on Feb. 26,
1931. He was a longtime resident of the Baton Rouge area and a
member of Zachary First Baptist Church. For many years, he was a
Royal Ambassador leader and coach. During his career, he worked at
Delta Tank Manufacturing Co., Best Manufacturing Co.. Dier-Moody
Associates and Dow Chemical Co. Visitation at Charlet Funeral Home
Inc., Zachary, on Wednesday, June 30, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Visitation at Zachary First Baptist Church on Thursday from 11
a.m. until service at noon. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory,
11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge. Gordon is survived by his
wife, Delle Lowrance, of Zachary; two sons, Mike Lowrance, of
Midland, Texas, and Larry Lowrance and wife Gloria, of Gonzales;
and daughter, Anne Brady and husband Patrick, of Albuquerque,
N.M.; eight grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a
great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his father and
mother, Henry Archer and Nell "Ossie" Burns Lowrance;
and brothers, Henry "Son" Archer Jr., Alfred Burns and
