Died 3 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 19, 1991, at Jefferson Davis Memorial Hospital,
Natchez, Miss. He was 59, a native of Lincoln County, Miss., and a
resident of Baton Rouge. He was an LSU engineering and drafting
instructor and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home 10 a.m. to religious services at 2
p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Jim Rentz. Burial in
Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by wife, Betty Ashford Lofton,
mother, Ruby K. Lofton, Baton Rouge; a daughter, Rhonda Lofton,
Baton Rouge; two sons, Mark and Jonathan Lofton, both of Baton
Rouge; and two brothers, Herman Lofton, Eagle Lake, Fla., and
Oscar Lofton, Hammond. Preceded in death by father, Charlie M.
Lofton. He was a member of Family Worship Center. Memorial
