Lamar Ashford,
68, of Liberty, died August 19, 1999, at his residence.
Services were held at 10 AM Saturday at Brown Funeral Home in
Liberty. Brother Robert Jacobs officiated. Burial was
in Zion Hill Cemetery. Mr. Ashford was born July
16, 1931, in East Baton Rouge Parish, LA. He was the son of
Frank H. Ashford and Mary Causey Ashford A
member of New Zion Baptist Church in Liberty, he worked as a tank
farm operator with Copolymer Rubber and Chemical Co. in Baton
Rouge, LA. He had run a cattle farm for the past 20 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kay Lynn
Ashford; and a brother , Homer Neil Ashford.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Ashford of Liberty; two
daughters and son-in-law, Debra Sue Dixon and Terry and Sean
Molony, all of Baton Rouge; a grandson and his wife, Aaron
and Angelle Dixon of Baton Rouge; a great-grandson, Ashton Dixon
of Baton Rouge; and a brother, Frank H. Ashford Jr. of Baton
Rouge.
