SADIE MAE HEMPHILL
A resident of
Baton Rouge, she died at 6:45 a.m. Monday, March 8, 1999, at Our
Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 67 and a native
of New Orleans. Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East,
11000 Florida Blvd., 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Visiting at the
funeral home, 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday. Religious services
at Jefferson Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by
the Rev. Tommy French. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She
is survived by three daughters, Debra Ann DuFour, Baton Rouge,
Donna Lynn Scallan, Metairie, and Denise DuFour Arnold, Baton
Rouge; a son, Darren James DuFour, Baton Rouge; two sisters,
Dorothy E. McLain, Gloster, Miss., and Mary Lou Hemphill, Baton
Rouge; two grandchildren, Corey Malcolm Arnold and Ashley Elaine
Arnold; and lifetime friends. Evelyn Owen Stafford and Betty
Claire Palmer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm
James DuFour; and parents, Charles Robert and Mary E. Shaffette
Hemphill. She was a member of John James Audubon Chapter of
Daughters of the American Revolution and Jefferson Baptist Church.
