| A retired U.S. Air Force
master sergeant who served in both the Korean and Vietnam
wars and a resident of Prairieville, he died at 11 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at his residence with his family by
his side. He was 72 and a native of Franklinton. Visiting at
Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 6
p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Visiting in the funeral home
chapel from 8 a.m. until religious service at 1:30 p.m.
Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Carol Winn Crawford.
Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park with full military
honors. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Amrhein
Foil; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennie and Michael Hedger
of Houston; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Jamie Foil
of Prairieville; and a sister, Dorothy Johnson of Marietta,
Ga. He is also survived by the joys of his heart,
granddaughters Cameron and Carley Foil. Preceded in death by
his parents, Jewel and Louise Brumfield Foil; a brother,
Causey Foil; and a sister, Mildred Simmons. He was a
self-taught drummer who loved music, especially Country and
Western. He also loved the outdoors, especially gardening
and fishing. He loved a good joke, in particular the
laughter that followed. He also loved to cook, but most of
all, he loved his family and friends. He was a former member
of Evangeline United Methodist Church. His family wishes to
thank the doctors and staff at Baton Rouge General Medical
Center and St. Joseph Hospice. |
