Day, Emma Bell
"Aunt Bell" "For God so loved the world that he
gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16. Emma Bell
was born July 21, 1932, in Jackson, but was a resident of Baton
Rouge. Aunt Bell was a loving sister, aunt and sister-in-law. She
went to be with her Lord and savior on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 5:45
p.m. at her home. She is survived by two loving and beautiful
sisters, Maud Amelia Day and Velma Day Fischer; a very special
brother-in-law, Culver L. Fischer; a loving and thoughtful
brother, Archie Toler Day Sr. and an angel of a sister-in-law,
Jervais Walsworth Day; the greatest nephew in the world, Archie
"Scooter" Toler Day Jr. and his kind and generous wife,
Charlene "Tootie" Charlet Day; two very special nieces,
Deborah "Debbie" Lynn Day Maher and husband Michael
"Mike" Maher of Reston, Va., and Sharon Elizabeth
Fischer Sigrest and husband Wade Sigrest, "Missionaries"
of Cebu, Philippines; two very lovable great-nieces, Brooke
Allyson Day "My College Girl" and "Miss
Personality," Autumn Elizabeth Sigrest of Cebu; great-nephew,
Brian Wade Sigrest "My Bug Man," also of Cebu; stepniece,
"My School Teacher," Michele Leigh Brian Maddie, husband
Dominique Maddie and a beautiful daughter, Kristian Michele Maddie,
all of Zachary. Emma Bell was preceded in eternal life by parents,
Toler Thomas Day and Emma Walters Day; and loving nephew, Thomas
Daniel Fischer. Emma Bell graduated from Istrouma High School. She
was a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was retired
from Premier Bank (L.N.B.) with more than 38 years of service as
an assistant vice-president. Visitation will be at Welsh Funeral
Home, 6700 Florida Blvd., on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m.
until service in the chapel at 1:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev.
Malcolm Richard. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. The
active pallbearers will be Christopher LeBourgeois, Bill Craig,
Farrell Pocorello, Jeff Miller, Michael "Mike" Meschke
and Kevin Cobb. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. A. Foster Sanders,
Harry D. Hodges, Kenneth "Ken" Sullivan, Larry Q.
Miller, Harold Hank Thompson, Billy Vickry and Ellis Day. Special
thanks to the Pinnacle Home Health staff and St. Joseph Hospice
staff. Also special thanks to Dr. Kurt W. Graves, Dr. Keith Rhynes,
Dr. Wesley J. Desselle and Dr. Michael J. Castine III for all of
their professional care. A very special thanks to all my loving
family, friends and neighbors.
