A homemaker and a resident of Walker, she died at 3:22 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at her home. She was 68 and a native of Baton Rouge. Visiting was at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. Visiting at the funeral home chapel, 1 p.m. until religious services at 3 p.m. Friday, con-ducted by the Rev. Merlin McCon. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by her hus-band, Billy R. Baughman, Walker; three sons, Johnny Reid Baugh-man and wife Nancy of Walker, Robert Wayne Baughman and wife Evelyn of Port Vincent, and Chris-topher Lee Baughman and wife Kim of Osyka, Miss.; two sisters, Irene Wesley of Albuquerque, N.M., and Gaynell Carpenter of Baker; and three grandchildren, Johnathan and Janet Baughman and Emily Baughman. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sudi Cook. Pallbearers will be Fred Rogers, Herman Chandler, Louis Sparkman, Willie Sparkman, David Carpenter and Gerald Svoren. Honorary pall-bearers are Jimmy Sparkman and Gary Carpenter. She had a special gift of laughter from the Lord, and she brought joy into the lives of everyone with whom she came into contact. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, P.O. Box 4196, Monroe LA 71211-9986.
