Died Thursday,
Feb. 2, 1995, at Mercy Baptist Hospital, New Orleans. He
was 63, a native and resident of Baton Rouge. He was a U.S. Air
Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a retired Formosa
Plastics employee. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home,
9595 Florida Blvd., at Cora Drive, 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday. Visiting
at the funeral home chapel 8:30 a.m. until religious services at
11:30 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Sammy David and the Rev.
Barbara Dando. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by
wife, Elaine K. Burgess, Baton Rouge; a daughter, Debra Burgess
Thomas, Baton Rouge; two sons, Leonard W. Burgess, Denham Springs,
and James M. Burgess, Baton Rouge; two sisters, Helen Rayne and
Nellie Bostick, both of Denham Springs; a brother, George M.
Burgess, Denham Springs; and eight grandchildren. Preceded in
death by parents, George and Lillie Burgess. pallbearers will be
Gregg Kirby, Roger Kirby, David Bankston, David Jenkins, Archie
Browning and Nolan Daigle.
