Died Sunday,
April 2, 1995, at Assumption general hospital, Napoleonville.
He was 63, a resident of Bayou Corne and a native of Baton
Rouge. He recently retired from Cajun Electric
and was a former longtime employee of U.S. Steel and Uniroyal.
He was a U.S. navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Visiting was held at Greenoaks Funeral home, 9595 Florida
Blvd. At Cora Drive, noon until religious
services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Carroll Marr.
Interment in Greenoaks Memorial park. Survived
by wife, Mona Long Branum, Bayou Corne; two daughters and
sons-in-law, Melinda and David Farrister, Sr., Baton Rouge, and
Kahne and Kim Guillot, Zachary; a son, James W. Branum, Jr.,
Houston; two sisters, Betty Long and Barbara Perrault, both of
Baton Rouge; three brothers, David H. Branum, Jr., Walker, and
Elgene Branum Sr., and Alvin Ray Branum, both of Baton Rouge; four
grandchildren, Amy Farrister, David Paul Farrister, Jr., Jamie
Guillot and Tyler Guillot; nieces, nephews and friends.
