Blackledge departed this life Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at M.D.
Anderson Cancer Center, Houston. Glynn is survived by his wife,
Perrie Roy, to whom he was married 51 years. Theirs was a love
which gave issue to six sons who also survive him: Bradford
married to Ellen, Brian, Bennett married to Jill and Bart married
to Alicia, all residing in Baton Rouge, Barry married to Cathleen,
Jacksonville, Fla., and Brett married to Stephanie, Alexander
City, Ala. Glynn's 16 grandchildren knew every day of the deep
love their Paw Paw felt for them. He is also survived by a
brother, Richard and wife Joan, Birmingham, Ala.; and a sister,
Jerrie, who resides in Baton Rouge. He is also survived by three
loving brothers-in-law, the Rev. James Roy, the Rev. Kenneth Roy
and Harold Roy; and a sister-in-law, Barbara. Friends are invited
to attend a memorial Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church,
Government Street at Marquette Avenue, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday,
Dec. 20, 2003, which will be concelebrated by the Rev. Jim Roy and
the Rev. Ken Roy. For those who wish, donations in his memory may
be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, or to a favorite
charity.
